agriPV

Project description

An agrivoltaic power plant project is currently under study in France in the Ardennes, in Wadimont, a locality now part of Chaumont-Porcien. The project combines cattle farming with solar energy production.

It was developed in collaboration with the farmer, taking into account environmental constraints and his operational needs: access routes, fencing, tracks, maneuvering areas, tank placement, inter-row spacing, and more. Fixed panels and trackers were both considered.

Livestock farming remains the primary use of the land. Solar energy is added without replacing agricultural activity.

A year-long environmental study was conducted to assess the site’s conditions. The goal is to explore how livestock, forage production, and solar power can work together.

The planned capacity is around 6 MWp—enough to cover the average electricity use of about 1,600 households.
