Project description
The 2.4 MWp Burlats ground-mounted photovoltaic power plant is located in the commune of Burlats, in the French department of Tarn. The 2.4 ha project is located on a former granite quarry, which ceased operations in October 2012.
The selected project has several benefits:
- Development of a brownfield site ;
- Low impact on the landscape: the trees preserved, recreated or strengthened will form are limiting views of the power plant from the surrounding area;
- Low impact on the natural environment: the meadows to the east, which are of moderate importance, have been preserved;
- Compatibility with the PLU and SDIS requirements through the implementation of a 50 m brushwood clearance zone around the site.
The photovoltaic park will cover the annual domestic consumption of around 1,030 households in a clean and renewable way. The project's objectives are thus in line with the guidelines set out in supra-communal documents, in particular the SCoT Hautes Terres d'Oc, which aims to develop renewable energies through the preferential use of existing business parks and the rehabilitation of brownfield sites.
